Fana means "the first light". This lot is named after Fana, the youngest daughter of the Bette Buna founders, Dawit and Hester.
After washing the skins, these sweet sticky beans laid with about 30% of mucilage remaining for a short period on raised beds. Two 3-hour-sunlight-shifts a day creates a an outstanding balanced coffee.
Bette Buna lot Fana is a honey-processed coffee from Ethiopia's Guji region. Its light roast is perfectly balanced and full of flavor. It's packed in plastic-free packaging, and is roasted at Östra Grevie Kafferosteri to bring out the best from this one-of-a-kind origin.

Founders: Dawit Syoum & Hester Westerveld
In 2020 grandfather of Dawit Syoum and Hester Westerveld passed away on their family coffee farm in Sidamo, Ethiopia. Together with their family members Dawit and Hester created a plan to fulfill one of their ánd grandfather’s last wishes: Solving the huge challenge of poverty and inequality that many Ethiopian coffee communities still face. They took over the lead of the coffee farm in Sidamo and put a point at the horizon.
